It’s fun to see a movie that you know inside out with people who are still surprise-able. Tonight I saw “Holy Grail” at the Paramount, which was really only funny because of the audience. I couldn’t do the dialogue, obviously, because it’s incredibly obnoxious when people do that in theaters. But hearing people really laugh was splendid. Reminds me of sitting near teenagers seeing “Gone with the Wind” for the first time; imagine being surprised when Rhett pops up or when Scarlett throws the vase. It’s good to really get inside these, but it would be nice to be able to see a favorite with fresh eyes, too.
Then I went over to The Belmont for more of John Cusack month. (Who can resist the premise, really?) Read the rest of this entry »
